Monica Lewinsky is out to teach Beyoncé a thing or two after the pop star included an inaccurate reference to her in a song lyric.

Bill Clinton's former White House intern, now 40, has written her first tell-all column about her notorious affair with the US president.

In the Vanity Fair piece, she criticises Beyoncé's recent track, "Partition", requesting the singer make a correction.

The third verse of the sexually-explicit hit includes the lyric: "He popped all my buttons and he ripped my blouse/ He Monica Lewinski'd all on my gown."

Lewinsky wrote in response: "Thanks, Beyoncé, but if we're verbing, I think you meant 'Bill Clinton'd all on my gown,' not 'Monica Lewinsky’'d'."

Said "gown" is infamous as the blue dress Lewinsky wore during sexual relations with Clinton when she was 22.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Beyoncé has yet to reply to Lewinsky's comment. She is not the only one to reference the Lewinsky scandal in her music. Eminem went there in 2013's "Rap God" and Kid Cudi, Migos, Kanye West and Raekwon have all name-dropped her too.

Lewinsky penned the revealing article after vowing to stop "tiptoeing" around the past. "I am determined to have a different ending to my story," she said. "I've decided, finally, to stick my head above the parapet so that I can take back my narrative and give a purpose to my past."

Lewinsky's story is renowned worldwide, with chart-topper Miley Cyrus even performing a Lewinsky imitation during her Bangerz tour.
