Chris Brown has released a new track mere hours after being released from prison late Tuesday, after posting a $250,000 bail following his 14-hour-long standoff with the Los Angeles Police Department.

Brown was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on Tuesday after police responded to his hilltop estate in the city’s Tarzana neighbourhood at 3am.

The musician has disputed the allegations through his lawyer, though his first public statement actually took place on Instagram; where Brown decided, instead of confronting the situation, to drop new track "What Would You Do".

"With all this bullsh*t and everything going on man," Brown said in a video on his Instagram. "I’ma just going to turn the other cheek, drop some music."

"What Would You Do" was uploaded to Brown's Soundcloud; though music fans will inevitably pour over the lyrics to discern any reference to events in his personal life, it's a pretty generic dance number which appears to reference the breakdown of a relationship. "What do you do fighting for your life/ And no one's on your side/ I can't stand to lose you, see you're in too deep/ And know nowhere to hide," the chorus reads.

The track will supposedly feature on Brown's upcoming album Heartbreak On a Full Moon.
