Today, Dennis Hone, the chief executive of the London Legacy Development Corporation, announced that the Olympic Stadium – currently the focus of a Kramer vs Kramer-esque tug of love as to who's going to look after it when memories of Mo have faded – could be hosting gigs by this July. With Hyde Park allowed to host only nine of its 13 usual big gigs, the Olympic Stadium will be hoping to compete with Wembley for London's big outdoor shows. So who might be the first to play there?
Sir Paul McCartney Sometime Nirvana frontman Macca has been publicly flagellating himself for his mucked-up performance at the Games. A proper show here would help to resolve that. Odds: 2/1
Chas and Dave, Jah Wobble, Wiley They may lack the pull of Macca, but as famous Spurs fans they could do their best to occupy the arena with other Spurs fans as a strike across the bows to West Ham's possible tenancy. Odds: 500/1
Kraftwerk Thousands missed out on tickets for the German electronic pioneers' Tate shows in February. Get them in the stadium and have Chris Froome cycle around the track during "Tour de France". Odds: 80/1
Emeli Sandé As these pages have been keen to point out, 2012's bestselling artist was as prominent a presence in the stadium last summer as Bolt, Ennis and Rudisha. Give her the keys and have done with it. Odds: 9-1Reuse content
