Acts such as Dizzee Rascal, Scissor Sisters and The Flaming Lips are among the main acts playing this year's Glastonbury Festival, it was announced today.

They join acts who have already been confirmed to top the bill - U2, Muse and Stevie Wonder - for the 40th anniversary event in late June.

And two years after Jay-Z's performance divided Glasto-goers, Snoop Dogg has been added to the bill with a performance on the main Pyramid Stage.

The US rapper was temporarily banned from the UK when he was refused a visa after a brawl at Heathrow Airport in 2006.

Also appearing on the Pyramid will be Vampire Weekend, Norah Jones, Faithless, Corinne Bailey-Rae, country legend Willy Nelson and former Guns N'Roses star Slash. His ex-band will be headlining this year's Reading and Leeds Festivals in August.

The Flaming Lips, Pet Shop Boys and Orbital will headline the Other Stage, which will also feature Hot Chip, Florence And The Machine, The National, We Are Scientists, The Hold Steady and Grizzly Bear.

Appearing elsewhere on the huge Somerset site during the festival from June 25 to 27 will be Dr John, Mos Def, Gang Of Four, Midlake and The Black Keys.

Billy Bragg will be curating his own stage at the sold-out event.

Organiser Michael Eavis said: "This is it - the most staggering line up to match the 40-year reputation of the festival."
