The 67th Golden Globe Awards, presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association on January 17, honored artists in a number of music-related categories. Among this year's musical honorees were the American television show
Glee, the score from
Up, and the theme song to the movie
Crazy Heart.

Glee, a hugely successful musical series that focuses on a high school singing club, won the Golden Globe for Best Television Series, Comedy or Musical. Cast members of the show were nominated in three other categories but didn't take home honors. Songs performed in Glee are released on iTunes during the week of each episode's broadcast, and so far more than two million digital songs have been sold. Columbia Records puts out a series of Glee albums, with Volumes One and Two already available.

T Bone Burnett and Ryan Bingham won the award for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture for "The Weary Kind (Theme from Crazy Heart)," beating out nominees including U2, Paul McCartney, and James Horner.

The Golden Globe for Best Original Score for a Motion Picture went to Michael Giacchino, composer of the score for the animated film Up. Other nominees included Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, who composed the Where the Wild Things Are score with Carter Burwell, and James Horner for Avatar.
