American rock group Guns n' Roses launches the Chinese Democracy World Tour from Canada over a year after the release of its long-awaited 2008 album
Chinese Democracy, according to the band's tour promoter.

The 13-date tour kicks off January 13, 2010 at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and winds up on February 4 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, at the Metro Centre. Tickets will be available for presale beginning October 21 from both Ticketmaster.ca and LiveNation.com. The Canadian dates will be preceded by a previously announced series of Asian live shows, four December dates ranging from the 11th to the 19th.

Guns n' Roses was one of the most successful rock bands of the 1990s, selling over 100 million albums worldwide since their 1987 début album, Appetite for Destruction.

The release of Chinese Democracy (their first CD in 15 years) was delayed by the group's perfectionist lead singer Axl Rose for over a decade, and has sold a relatively underwhelming million copies in the US to date. All advertised dates for the Canadian leg of Guns n' Roses' Chinese Democracy World Tour are as follows:

Jan. 13 - Winnipeg, Manitoba  (MTS Centre)
Jan. 16 - Calgary, Alberta (Pengrowth Saddledome)
Jan. 17 - Edmonton, Alberta (Rexall Place)
Jan. 19 - Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (Credit Union Centre)
Jan. 20 - Regina, Saskatchewan (Brandt Centre)
Jan. 24 - Hamilton, Ontario (Copps Coliseum)
Jan. 25 - London, Ontario (John Labatt Centre)
Jan. 27 - Montreal, Quebec (Bell Centre)
Jan. 28 - Toronto, Ontario (Air Canada Centre)
Jan. 31 - Ottawa, Ontario (Scotiabank Place)
Feb. 1 - Quebec City, Quebec (Colisee Pepsi)
