Kanye West and Drake respond to Kid Cudi: 'I birthed you'

'You know how many people wish they could be signed to G.O.O.D. Music?'

For some reason, Kid Cudi decided to blast both Drake and Kanye West on Twitter early one evening, calling out the two for apparently using ghost writers.

“Everyone thinks they’re so great,” he wrote on the social media website. “Talking top 5 and be having 30 people write songs for them… My tweets apply to who they apply. [Kan]Ye, Drake, whoever. These n****s don't give a f**k about me. And they ain’t f**king with me.”

The accusations seemed particular odd as Cudi and West’s relationship spans almost a decade, the rapper having broken out thanks to a guest spot on West’s 2008 album 808s & Heartbreak.

He then signed to West’s label G.O.O.D. Music, leaving in 2013 but remaining on good terms with the rapper, appearing on this year’s The Life of Pablo.

West responded to the accusations while performing in Tampa on the Saint Pablo tour. “Don’t never mention ’Ye name,” he said according to Pitchfork. “I birthed you… Don’t try to say who I can do songs with. You mad cause I’m doin’ songs with Drake? Ain’t nobody tell ‘Ye who to do songs with!”

He continued: “You know how many people wish they could be signed to G.O.O.D. Music? Get their life changed? I’m so hurt. I feel so disrespected. Kid Cudi, we’re two black men in a racist world. I wore skinny jeans first... why y'all gotta be coming at me?

“This ain't the end of the Malcolm X movie. I'm out here fighting for y’all: creatives, artists, independent thinkers. Don’t never mention my name.”

Meanwhile, Drake referenced the feud while performing in Oakland on his Summer Sixteen tour, saying to the audience: “Boy you gettin’ way too high, you need to cud-it.”

Kanye West recently made headlines on his tour for scaring off one overexcited fan who attempted to jump onto his floating stage.
