Kanye West on new album Swish: 'Don't ask me for anything' until it is finished

The rapper is finally focussing on his forthcoming album

Kanye West’s musical output has diminished somewhat since the release of Yeezus back in 2013.

Since then we’ve had a couple of singles - “FourFiveSeconds”, “All Day” and “Only One” – as well as a few guest spots, but Mr Kim Kardashian’s main creative outputs have been in fashion and baby naming.

Luckily, it seems his attention has finally turned back to music, with two Tweets revealing that he doesn’t want anyone asking him for anything until his album is finished.

“I’m finishing my album and my next collection…” he wrote on the social media service. “No offense to anyone… I’m asking everyone... DON’T ASK ME FOR ANYTHING TILL AFTER I’M FINISHED WITH MY ALBUM”.

Thank Saint West he's concentrating on music! Kanye’s albums are some of the most critically acclaimed in hip-hop, with My Twisted Dark Fantasy often being held up as one of the recent cornerstones of rap artistry.

The 38-year-old has renamed his forthcoming album once already, changing the name from So Help Me God to SWISH.

Little is known about the record except that Travis Scott said it will be “coming very soon” while adding “He’s on his God-level rapping”.

According to a recent report in The Mirror, the albuim was actually finished, but with the arrival of new son Saint, he’s back in the studio recording some new tracks.

Can we expect a family record like “Only One” again, or will he go back to the hard hitting beats of Yeezus. Tellingly, he has played the entirety of 808s and Heartbreaks in its entirety at live shows recently, hinting at some softer, more auto-tuned output in the future.
