Kanye West storms off stage in Florida after three songs

The rapper shouted at his technical crew before temporarily halting the show

Kanye West stormed off stage just seconds into his third song at a Florida gig after become irate with the lighting and sound crew.

Despite "All of the Lights" being one of his hits, the 36-year old rapper demanded the music be stopped and all lights turned down immediately, before ranting that the sound and lighting crew had forgotten to add a "deep voice" effect on his microphone.

Local newspaper The Tampa Tribune reported that West also complained about the image of himself displayed on the venue’s giant LED screen, claiming it was supposed to be projecting him in monochrome and not colour.

Diva tantrum over, the rapper returned to the stage to continue his Yeezus tour performance, but spared little time before comparing himself to Steve Jobs, Nelson Mandela, the Wright Brothers and Thomas Edison in an attempt to combat the "haters".

West hit headlines recently with a mid-concert rant about a failed collaboration with sportswear company Nike.

During a Nashville show last week, the rapper talked about the brand for more than six minutes, condemning the multinational corporation and the media for trying to prohibit his self-expression.

Other recent tirades have included a Twitter attack against US presenter Jimmy Kimmel after his show spoofed an interview West had given to Radio 1.

"Jimmy Kimmel is out of line to try and spoof in any way the first piece of honest media in years," he wrote, in capitals for angry effect. "I don’t take it as a joke, you don’t have scum bags hopping over fences trying to take pictures of your daughter."

West is currently embroiled in a court case after he was charged with battery and attempted grand theft following an alleged scuffle with a photographer at Los Angeles International Airport in September.

The rapper pleaded not guilty earlier this month, with the case scheduled to continue in January. Each charge carries a maximum penalty of six months in prison.
