Kanye West is reportedly set to meet Donald Trump at the White House.

According to The New York Times, West will meet with both Trump and Jared Kushner, the president's son-in-law and senior adviser, in Washington DC on Thursday.

It's believed the three men will discuss the availability of job opportunities for former convicts, as well as the number of manufacturing jobs in West's hometown of Chicago.

Kim Kardashian West, the rapper's wife, visited the White House in May to meet with Trump and Kushner to discuss prison reform. Their meeting resulted in the president granting clemency in the case of convicted drug dealer Alice Marie Johnson, after Kardashian West had campaigned for her release.

West, 41, has faced intense criticism for his support of Trump. The rapper deleted his social media accounts following a backlash to his Saturday Night Live appearance, in which he wore a "Make America Great Again" baseball cap and made a pro-Trump speech after the cameras had stopped rolling.

Pete Davidson criticises Kanye West 'Being mentally ill is not an excuse to act like a jack*ss'

Saturday Night Live cast member Pete Davidson responded to his appearance as part of the show's "Weekend Update" segment, in which he asked West, who has spoken openly about dealing with bipolar disorder, to resume taking his medication.

He said: “Kanye, I know you’re like, ‘Yo, this is the real me, I’m off the meds.' Take ‘em! There’s no shame in the medicine game. I’m on ‘em — take ‘em! if I ever got on a plane and the pilot said, ‘I just want you all to know this is the real me flying.' I’d jump out!

“Being mentally ill is not an excuse to act like a jackass,” he added. “Seriously: one time I stopped taking my meds, and I bit my mom. But it’s all good because I bought her a house.”

While a representative for West confirmed to the Times that the meeting is set to take place, there was been no official word from the White House on the matter.
