Latitude 2014: Chrissie Hynde, Augustines, The Jayhawks and Beautiful South duo join line-up

Chrissie Hynde, Augustines, The Jayhawks and Beautiful South duo Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott have been added to the Latitude 2014 line-up, festival organisers have confirmed.

Heaton and Abbott will perform songs from their new album and also play tracks from The Beautiful South and The Housemartins.

They will be joined on the main stage by “Don’t Get Me Wrong” singer Chrissie Hynde and American country rock band The Jayhawks.

The three acts will join already-confirmed headliners Two Door Cinema Club, Damon Albarn, The Black Keys, Editors, Bombay Bicycle Club and Tame Impala on the Obelisk Arena.

British electronic musician James Holden and alternative Scottish hip hop group Young Fathers will headline The iArena, which promotes up and coming names.

Scottish stand-up comedian Kevin Bridges will headline the comedy arena, joining Dara O Briain, Simon Amstell, Milton Jones, Al Murray, Josh Widdicombe and Tim Key in the comedy line-up.

Civil rights campaigner Shami Chakrabarti and News Statesman columnist Laurie Penny will speak at the literary tent alongside child therapist and TV personality Tanya Byron and literary editor Suzi Feay.

Sadler’s Wells will be headlining the dance Waterfront Stage with performances from Ballet Revolución, Sonia Sabri Company and Candoco Dance Company featuring Venezuelan dancer Javier de Frutos.
