In-between sending out scathing tweets and feuding with his brother, Liam Gallagher has had just enough time to form a 'supergroup'.

Unfortunately, that hasn’t met banding up with Noel but instead getting together with some legendary musicians including The Who frontman Roger Daltrey.

The two frontmen will get together with The Lightning Seeds’ Ian Broudie and Ringo Starr’s son Zak Starkey to perform a rendition of “My Generation” on the one-off live special of TFI Friday. Liam's old band Oasis would often play the song at the end of their sets.

A ‘source’ reportedly told The Sun: "Liam's got a bit of time on his hands since Beady Eye called it a day last year so he fancied trying his hand at something new.

"He's told his mates he's pretty bored. Other than Noel, you would be hard pushed to find a better set of bandmates than Roger, Ian and Zak. It's a proper supergroup and the performance will be something to remember."

A TFI spokesman later confirmed to NME that the group would indeed perform together. Other guests on the show will include Blur, Stone Roses and Primal Scream bassist Mani, Rudimental and Years & Years. It is yet unknown is the unnamed supergroup will tour together.

In other Oasis news, Paul McCartney has urged the brothers to get back together, to which Noel said if the Beetle were to “write our comeback single” it would “be on”.

Noel made it clear in the interview that for the time being he is not concerned with re-joining Oasis, and would not reconsider unless he or his brother “was broke”.
