Maria Sharapova stars in Wimbledon-themed video for new Rizzle Kicks single 'Tell Her'
The hip-hop duo are seen chasing their crush near the All England Club
Maria Sharapova has appeared in a Wimbledon-inspired video for Rizzle Kicks' new single, “Tell Her”.
The hip-hop duo are seen in tennis whites and sweatbands, running around Wimbledon Village and the Common vying for the attention of a Sharapova lookalike.
When they eventually give up and sit down to watch Wimbledon in front of the television, the former tennis world number one herself appears in a press conference.
She tells reporters she would “love to meet” Rizzle Kicks, sending the pair dashing back out of the house.
The unlikely combination was brought about as part of Evian’s huge Wimbledon marketing drive.
The video is billed as “Evian & Rizzle Kicks” on YouTube, featuring plenty of jarring Evian product placement, not to mention creepy baby versions of the Brighton singers created by the water brand.
Bandmates Jordan Stephens and Harley Alexander-Sule said in a press release: “We were both really excited about the opportunity to do something different and work with Evian, especially as it meant we got to work with our long-time crush Maria Sharapova.”
Sharapova added: “Music is one of my passions and what great fun to star in my first music video! The video is really playful.”
“Tell Her” will be released on 11 August through Island Records.
As well as her many product endorsements, Sharapova has released her own line of sweets called “Sugarpova”, which includes flavours such as “splashy”, “sassy sour” and “silly”.
The 27-year-old fifth seed is in London for the Wimbledon Championships fresh from her victory at the French Open.

She joins a line of tennis players to have cameos in music videos.
A topless Rafael Nadal starred as Shakira’s lover in a steamy video for her song “Gypsy” while Anna Kournikova started dating Enrique Iglesias after playing his girlfriend in the video for “Escape”.
