On February 15, experimental rock band Yeasayer continued to top the list of most-blogged artists on The Hype Machine, as a number of bloggers share tracks from the band's just-released album. San Diego group The Radio Department and British band Hot Chip are in the second and third spots.
Japandroids, a garage-rock/noise-pop band from Vancouver, is in the blogs following release of its single "Art Czar." The band formed in 2006 and has released one album, 2009's Post-Nothing, which Pitchfork and Spin magazines included on their "best of 2009" lists. "Art Czars" is the first in a series of five limited edition singles the band will release while on a large-scale international tour, set to continue through May.
Pantha du Prince in a German DJ/producer who is hot in the blogs today following the February 8 release of his third album, Radio Noise. Gorilla Vs. Bear (gorillavsbear.blogspot.com) calls the minimal techno album "a gorgeous/sprawling collection of shimmering, consistently affecting otherworldly minimalist techno jams."
