On February 9, Brooklyn experimental rock band Yeasayer continues to be the most talked-about band in the blogosphere, according to The Hype Machine. British electropop band Hot Chip and San Diego post-rock project The Album Leaf round out the top three.

Yeasayer's album Odd Blood was released February 8. Indie Shuffle ( says, "With such a huge range of sounds, structures and melodies flying off in all directions - Odd Blood is a genuinely eclectic album, drawing comparisons to everything from Michael Jackson to [experimental musicians] High Places or Panda Bear... ."

Vampire Weekend is in the blogs after having covered the Rancid song "Ruby Soho" on BBC radio. Prefix Magazine ( says, "It's basically exactly like you'd expect this to be: It's all delicate, erudite, and less punky than the Rancid original."

San Diego indie band The Soft Pack climbed into the top ten with the release of its sefl-titled album. The band is due to begin a major tour on February 12, beginning with 14 UK shows, followed by several concerts in continental Europe, and then a string of shows in the US.
