On February 9, Brooklyn experimental rock band Yeasayer continues to be the most talked-about band in the blogosphere, according to The Hype Machine. British electropop band Hot Chip and San Diego post-rock project The Album Leaf round out the top three.

Yeasayer's album Odd Blood was released February 8. Indie Shuffle (www.indieshuffle.com) says, "With such a huge range of sounds, structures and melodies flying off in all directions - Odd Blood is a genuinely eclectic album, drawing comparisons to everything from Michael Jackson to [experimental musicians] High Places or Panda Bear... ."

Vampire Weekend is in the blogs after having covered the Rancid song "Ruby Soho" on BBC radio. Prefix Magazine (www.prefixmag.com) says, "It's basically exactly like you'd expect this to be: It's all delicate, erudite, and less punky than the Rancid original."

San Diego indie band The Soft Pack climbed into the top ten with the release of its sefl-titled album. The band is due to begin a major tour on February 12, beginning with 14 UK shows, followed by several concerts in continental Europe, and then a string of shows in the US.
