Simon Radcliffe, who founded Basement Jaxx, told the Evening Standard that the duo had drawn inspiration from the carnival’s “summer feel” for their new album.
“Carnival is the sound of the city, a cosmopolitan city, and it’s come from that,” he said. “We thought (Notting Hill Carnival) would be fun and we’ve got some new music to play, we’ve been touring, doing lots of gigs around Europe.
Notting Hill Carnival is held every year over the August Bank Holiday and is the largest celebration of its type in Europe. Thousands of people converge on the area to taste the best street food from jerk chicken and rice to other exotic cuisines.Reuse content
