Music fans looking to join in with the St Patrick’s Day celebrations will be listening to the likes of Hozier, The Script and U2, Spotify has revealed.

The popular streaming service has shared its list of the top 20 most-streamed tracks by Irish artists of all-time to mark the feast day of the patron saint of Ireland.

“Take Me To Church” by breakthrough singer-songwriter Hozier tops the chart after racking up more than 250 million streams, while Dublin group The Script are in second place with 2012 hit “Hall of Fame”, with more than 165 million streams.

U2 have five tracks in the list, their most popular being “With Or Without You”, while Snow Patrol, Van Morrison, The Cranberries, Damien Rice, Enya and Sinead O’Connor also feature.

Many songs in the top 20 are romantic ballads, such as “Chasing Cars”, “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved” and “Nothing Compares 2 U”, while “Beautiful Day” and “Brown Eyed Girl” provide sunnier, more upbeat alternatives for festivities.
