Watch Slipknot frontman slap phone out of audience member's hand: 'If you're gonna text, stay home'
It's safe to say, Corey Taylor really isn't happy about you texting your buddies while in the front row of his gigs
"If you're gonna text, stay home."
That's the official message from the man who dresses like a Walking Dead extra for a living. Upon discovering that a fan was texting in the front row of his band's gig, Slipknot lead singer Corey Taylor decided to take matters into his own hands.
You can see the entire thing play out on a video posted to the band's official Facebook page, where Taylor is seen to stride up to the texting fan and abruptly knock the thing out of his hands.
Taylor then points to the fan to make sure he knows he just got a really good telling off, with the fan weakly pointing back to the singer before realising that is probably the last time he'll ever see that precious piece of technology ever again.
The singer later responded to a question about the incident on Twitter; simply stating, "If you're gonna text, stay home".
Taylor's response - though totally excessive - does tie into the understandable backlash against phone usage at concerts; with Apple even initiating work and landing approval for a patent on technology that could disable photo and video functionality at events.
