Would you credit it? Mick didn't – and Ronnie didn't like it

At the same time, Jagger helped out on 'I Can Feel the Fire', which was less successful

Ronnie Wood was left singing the blues over a deal with Mick Jagger that left him without credit on one of The Rolling Stones' most popular songs, it has emerged.

Before joining the band, he helped Jagger to write "It's Only Rock n'Roll (But I Like It)", but did a deal where he had "no bargaining power". He told The Independent: "I helped to shape the song... I think [Mick] had the chorus and I helped him with the verse and the change into the chorus."

At the same time, Jagger helped out on a song Wood was writing called "I Can Feel the Fire", which would not find similar success. Wood recalled: "[Mick] said: 'I tell you what, you keep 'I Can Feel the Fire' and I'll keep 'It's Only Rock n'Roll'.' I said: 'Oh, all right.'" The song was recorded in 1973 and was credited to Jagger and Keith Richards.
