Album: Gang Gang Dance, Saint Dymphna, (Warp)
Having things in common with DFA electronic punk-funk, Japanese noise bands, Bjork, as well as a track with the UK grime MC Tinchy Stryder and one that sounds a lot like "I Only Said" by My Bloody Valentine, the third and least abstract album by these New York art-rockers could have been the work of a band who haven't yet discovered what it is that they're best at.
But it turns out that they can do it all, with a seeming insouciance and energy to spare.
