Album: Keith Jarrett, Gary Peacock and Jack DeJohnette, Somewhere (ECM)

A new live recording from the world's leading jazz trio – now 30 years old – doesn't set the pulse racing as much as it once did.

A couple of tunes, including the title track (one of two West Side Story selections, along with "Tonight"), can even sound a little pedestrian, the swing faltering. But, given time, most of it works. Highlights are the segue from "Deep Space" to "Solar" and from "Somewhere" to the hymn-like "Everywhere".
