On their debut album, Quiet Is The New Loud, Erlend Oye and Eirik Glambek Boe made a virtue of their beatlessness. The rhythms were implied in the cadences of their voices. On Versus, those rhythms are made real in a dozen remixes, collaborations and remakes by other artists. One unnecessary version of "Failure" from Alfie aside, it's wonderful stuff. Royksopp and Andy Votel add subtle Ibiza sunrise shades to "I Don't Know What I Can Save You From" and "Gold For The Price Of Silver", recorded with DJ Erot, is silky enough to make Barry White purr with approval.
