Album: Polly Scattergood, Arrows (Mute)
Any album which begins with the words "From my cocoon of angel wings", and contains references to rabbit holes and wishing wells, should probably come with a Twee Allergy warning.
Arrows may also be trying for anyone tired of Welch/Goulding/Houghton orchestral overdrive. But it's worth fighting through that for the cacophonies of prettiness, the irresistible "Subsequently Lost" and "Disco Damaged Kid", and the tear-choked finale.
