Following the excellent Isla and the replacement of their hang-player (looks like a wok, sounds like a steel drum) by keyboardist and new hang-man Keir Vine, Portico move even further away from conventional notions of jazz into full-on Ravey Davey Gravy-land.

And it's great. Real-time playing is blended with loops and samples and, oddly, this allows them to approach the textured sound of Weather Report from, as it were, the other side. Not sure yet about the vocal and drum solo.
