Larry Stabbins (Working Week) has created a sonic environment where hard beats meet passionate wailing and cheesy Soft Machine organ, intersected by oblique avant-garde interludes. Stabbins – the UK's own Pharoah Sanders for 30 years – is joined by musicians including Adrian Utley and Jim Barr of Portishead. The result – which requires repeated listening – is startlingly good.

Pick of the album: 'Wedgehead Gets Lucky': heavy spiritual funk

Just managed to get hold of this CD, WOW! it is mind blowing, whilst it takes you on a spiritual journey. This has to be the best album of the 21st Century so far. My pick of the album has the be the very lively "ROTOR"..... vote for album 99.5%..... who knows their next album could be better.... though iot will be hard to better this.
