Colombian pop superstar Shakira is set to make an international tour in 2010, according to a May 3 announcement. Tickets go on sale May 7 for the first three tour dates, which will take the singer to New York City on September 21, Houston on October 8, and Los Angeles on October 23.
Shakira will perform in support of 2009's She Wolf, her sixth studio album and third in English. The set peaked at No. 15 on the US Billboard chart, reached the top ten in more than a dozen other countries, and has gone platinum in Spain, Mexico, and Colombia.
The North American trek will mark Shakira's first US tour dates since 2006.
2010 tour dates:
Sept 21 - New York, Madison Square Garden
Oct 8 - Houston, Toyota Center
Oct 23 - Los Angeles, Staples Center
Additional dates will be announced soon for the tour, which is set to run through the summer and fall. Shakira's other upcoming appearances include visits to the Glastonbury Festival and Rock In Rio in Lisbon and Madrid. Her song "Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)" is the official anthem of the 2010 World Cup.
