On January 11, the first of US music releases for 2011 include the return of alternative darlings Cake,= after a seven-year absence, a follow-up to Cage the Elephant's big debut and a re-release of music by disco queen Teena Marie, who died December 23.

Cake, Showroom of Compassion
Fourth on Amazon's rock chart and fifth on the pop chart, this 11-track collection is the band's first album of new material since 2004's Pressure Chief. The sixth studio album, out on Upbeat/ILG Records, is led by the first single, "Sick of You." The signature crunchy guitar and punchy trumpet was recorded in the band's solar-powered studio in California.

Teena Marie: Ultimate Collection
Top of Amazon's funk chart and twelfth on the R&B chart, the "best of" album from the late R&B singer was originally released in February 2000 and will be back in stock on January 9, featuring her string of top ten hits like "Lovergirl" from the late 1970s.
