Jambaru's reputation is such that clubbers flock to Burnley from around the country. As a Grade II listed building, club XPO makes an unusual location for high-octave revelry. While National Trust members may be perturbed, concerned parents can take some comfort from knowing that the venue was previously a library.
Following extensive refurbishment, XPO boasts three separate rooms and a pre-club bar as well as state-of-the-art sound and lighting.
It seems ironic that many people go to clubs following specific DJs, whom they naturally hear but often never see perform. Jambaru bucks this trend. Complete with lift access, the main DJ booth overlooks the main room and backs onto the VIP room... perfect for 90s "megalomaniacal" DJs.
Anthony Pappa from Stress/DMC joins Jambaru residents Neil Metzner and Paul Taylor on the wheels of steel. Uplifting house and handbag heads the menu with funk and hip-hop in the XPO bar. Smart, though not pretentious, Jambaru is not a night for wallflowers.
EYE ON THE NEW
Kingsize moved slightly south to The Raw Club last week, bringing its distinctive brand of criminally eclectic tunes to the heart of the West End. Eleven DJs, two rooms for seven hours - the quintessential club experience...a steal!
