The Independent Culture
INDIAN CLASSICAL music has always been resistant to Western cultural imperialism, though now Westerners are keen to embrace all things Asian. In Postscript (9.55pm R3), Mark Tully (right) gets to the heart of the Indian classical music tradition by talking to five of its principal exponents. He starts with singer Asha Bhosle and santoor player Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma.
