Review: Let the Donkey Go

The eponymous donkey is mysteriously absent throughout. Instead, three police agents from a banana republic re-enact their greatest triumph: the apprehension of a man they suspect of being a suspect. Directed by Mick Barnfather, Peepolykus's new show is an inspired piece of slapstick, a caper through a world where it's possible to don a disguise by just doffing your hat. "When you asked me to come on this top-secret mission I had no idea it would be such a bloody laugh," says one of the trio at the end. Quite so. Somebody, please, give it a London run.

Pleasance. To 31 Aug
