Simon Beeching, managing director of Wexas (World Expeditionary Association), on Classic Adventure (BBC 1, Mon): 'It makes a refreshing change from picture postcard travel shows. A lot of travelogue programmes skim the surface, this got into the reality of adventure. It was interesting the way Monday's programme with Chris Bonington compared adventures of old to the modern equivalents. However, it was quite confused and cluttered; three trips in one programme was too much.'
