Show all 10Giants walk the streets of Liverpool today, as an estimated 250,000 people line the streets for puppet theatre on a grand scale.
A 30ft girl, a 20ft dog and her 50ft uncle will process through the city, operated by professional performers to the musical accompaniment of local children.
The three-day performance by French company Royal de Luxe is entitled Sea Odyssey, and ties in with the Titanic’s centenary, telling the story of a stowaway’s daughter hunting for news of her doomed father.
Moved by scores of puppeteers perched on mobile frames, the company’s cadre of mannequins has also made appearances in London, Berlin and Santiago.
Independent.co.uk's Emily Jupp is in Liverpool to witness the action first-hand; click here to launch her gallery of the day's events.
