They claim to be “perfection personified”, “effortlessly superior” and “a ‘great’ of their generation”, but what happens to Apprentice winners after Lord Sugar hires them?

All six of the first Apprentice winners are no longer working for Lord Sugar after leaving their £100,000 per annum salaries at his company to work elsewhere.

Only the two most recent winners, Ricky Martin and Tom Pellereau, are currently working in partnership with Lord Sugar, who has invested in their business ideas after a format shake-up in 2011.

Stella English, 2010 winner, hit the headlines recently when she unsuccessfully sued Lord Sugar earlier this year for unfair dismissal. The mother-of-two from Whitstable, Kent said she that her career was only “just beginning” and had plans to launch a clothing line.

Michelle Dewberry, 2006 winner, is the only apprentice to have developed a career in TV presenting alongside motivational speaking, while first ever winner Tim Campbell received an MBE in 2012 for services to enterprise culture.
