Keifer Sutherland hits the web with 'The Confession'

Keifer Sutherland, the star of the hit television show
24, which ended last year after eight successful seasons, has joined a web series,
The Confession, which debuted March 29 on Hulu.com, the US-only website showing television programs and on-demand streaming video.
The Confession was created by Sutherland and costar John Hurt (Mr. Ollivander from Harry Potter). The 10-part thriller consists of a series of five-to-10-minute episodes. The story follows a hit man and a priest, exploring good, evil and redemption through their complex relationship and dramatic flashbacks.
In what signals the first foray by a major star into narrative webisodes with high production values, it could be the start of a new form. The first three "chapters" have already been posted, with chapters 4 and 5 premiering on Hulu April 4.
The show was shot in just over a week in New York while Sutherland was rehearsing for his Broadway role in That Championship Season, which also stars Chris Noth ( Sex and the City) and Jason Patric ( The Losers), the son of Jason Miller, who wrote the play.
Sutherland's next film is Melancholia, a sci-fi thriller about a planet on a collision course with Earth. His costars are Charlotte Gainsbourg, Kirsten Dunst and Charlotte Rampling. Directed by Lars von Trier ( Antichrist), it released in Scandinavia on May 26 followed by the UK in July.
A film version of 24 is in development as a feature film due in 2012, with Sutherland returning to his role as government agent Jack Bauer.
