At the 23rd annual Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards, Saturday, March 27, the favorite movie actor was Twilight's Taylor Lautner and the top female singer is Taylor Swift, not surprisingly. Lautner also took an orange blimp trophy presented by the children's television network as "cutest couple" with Twilight's Kristen Bell.

As favorite movie actress the prize went to Miley Cyrus. She appears in The Last Song on March 31 - not in her TV role as "Hannah Montana," but in a story by Nicholas Sparks ( Dear John, The Notebook).

Teen singer Justin Bieber and Rihanna performed at the ceremony in Los Angeles. Votes for the show's winners were cast by 115 million kids online. Other awards were presented to Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel for best movie, while Selena Gomez and Dylan Sprouse won favorite TV actress and actor.

Other winners in the music categories included the Black Eyed Peas for favorite music group and Jay-Z for male singer and Taylor Swift's song "You Belong With Me." US First Lady Michelle Obama received the Big Help Award - a special blimp for people who inspire kids - with her "Let's Move!" program urging kids to be more active and to eat healthy.

Katy Perry, Tina Fey and Steve Carell were presenters and Olympic speed skater Apolo Ono went to the event as well as Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith of the upcoming The Karate Kid. Everyone was covered in green slime, a signature element of the network.
