Popular dog act Jules O'Dwyer and Matisse triumphed in Tuesday night's Britain's Got Talent live semi-final, winning the public vote.

The 50-year-old and her adorable border collie wowed the audience and judges with their toy shop-themed routine to go straight through to Sunday's grand final.

"That was one of the best dog acts I have ever seen," said Simon Cowell, before describing the performance as "amazing".

Whether Jules and Matisse can follow 2012's dancing dog Pudsey and his owner Ashleigh to victory remains to be seen.

Competition will come from Old Men Grooving, who also qualified for the final. The dad-dancing five-piece beat gospel choir Revelation Avenue in the public vote after both acts tied on the judges' votes.

One and a half million votes were cast during last night's show, with other performers including "Big Mix" girl-group The HoneyBuns, contortionist Bonetics, high heel dancer Luca Calo and child group Groove Thing.

Last year's fourth placed act Jack Pack returned for a guest performance. The swing band has hired a new member, singer-songwriter Martin McCafferty, and covered "Light My Fire" from their forthcoming album.

Welsh choir Cor Glanaethwy and dance crew Entity Allstars made the final on Monday night, with another set of acts preparing to take to the stage tonight.

Talented contestants are hoping to win a £250,000 cash prize and the chance to appear at the Royal Variety Performance.
