While Game of Thrones broke records and The People v OJ Simpson won multiple awards, it was Jimmy Kimmel who made the 2016 Emmys one to remember.
The Late Night host poked fun at the likes of Matt Damon , Johnny Cochran, and Donald Trump during the ceremony, leading to hearty laughs and various awkward gasps from the audience.
However, one segment that was unanimously enjoyed by all in attendance was the introduction skit, featuring Emilia Clarke, Ryan Seacrest, and Jeb Bush.
One highlight saw Kimmel begrudgingly sing along to Wham!’s “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” with James Corden, mimicking his famous Carpool Karaoke sketch.
Corden ended up winning an Emmy with Carpool Karaoke, taking home the Variety Special gong, beating the likes of Adele, Amy Schumer and Beyoncé.
