Great British Bake Off 2015: When does the show start on TV this summer?
Everyone's favourite twee baking show is coming back
Bake Off fans, it’s time to get ready. Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry will be returning for another series of the hit show this summer in less than two weeks.
The Great British Bake Off will begin on Wednesday 5 August on its still relatively new home, BBC One.
After much baking hysteria last series including the epic baked Alaska bingate, who knows what series six will have in store.
The first trailer for the series sees Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry frolicking in the fields with presenters Mel and Sue to The Sound of Music opening theme tune, with Mary singing: “The hills are alive with the smell of baking.”
Who will be on the show?
Mary, Paul, Mel and Sue are clearly all very excited to be returning, judging by their enthuasiasm in the trailer. The contestants remain a secret at this stage, but we're hoping to see a line-up in the next fortnight.
Why should I watch it?
There will be plenty of seemingly innocent baking innuendos from Mary, disastrous bakes gone wrong and plenty of soggy bottoms for the judges to disapprove of.
If that doesn’t sound appetising enough, the show has gone on to be a roaring ratings success, pulling in 10.4 million viewers per episode last year after switching to BBC One.
All your friends, colleagues, teachers and loved ones will no doubt be talking about it, so you have no choice to watch it.
