Happy Days: Henry Winkler to star in Parks and Recreation as Jean-Ralphio's father

Happy Days star Henry Winkler has been cast as Jean-Ralphio’s father in Parks and Recreation.

The 67-year-old actor, who is best-known for playing Arthur ‘ Fonzie’ Fonzarelli in 1970’s sitcom Happy Days, has signed to appear as a guest in the forthcoming series, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

Winkler, who has previously starred in Arrested Development and US comedy Children’s Hospital, will appear in the first episode of series six and may return in future episodes, in a similar way to his on-screen son Jean-Ralphio.

The casting comes a year after the US comedy brought in Jenny Slate to play evil genius Jean-Ralphio’s like-minded egocentric sister Mona-Lisa.

The sixth series of Parks and Recreation will return on 26 September, with an hour long first episode which will include scenes filmed on location in London.

Ben Schwartz, who plays Jean-Ralphio, confirmed the news on Twitter:
