Molly Conlin, the actor who played Dotty Cotton in EastEnders, has said she was held at knifepoint by robbers who broke into her home.

The 19-year-old, who starred in the BBC soap from 2008 to 2010, claimed in a series of since-deleted Twitter posts that two men had “barged” into the Essex property on Saturday afternoon (27 June).

Conlin said she had opened the front door after hearing a knock and assuming she had a delivery. She said was then “pushed to the ground” and “dragged” upstairs before being held at knifepoint while the pair raided the house.

“I was literally praying as I thought I was going to die,” she tweeted.

“They was screaming at me, telling me they was going to hurt me if I didn’t give them anything while I was begging for my life being pinned down to the floor.

Police are investigating the incident.

In a statement posted on Facebook, Essex Police said the robbers had “made off with a watch worth a four-figure sum and a black Audi A1 Sport”, and that the woman at the scene “was not hurt but she was left shaken”.

Aside from EastEnders, Conlin has also appeared in the TV series Horrible Histories and Blandings.
