She says: "Will I find love in the jungle? I am not going in looking for it – but I am not against it either!"

Forde is well known in Ireland and has appeared on the reality TV show Nadia Goes to Hollywood.

She spent the summer promoting her first single in the UK, Ibiza and Miami and now she is gearing up to face her fears in the jungle.

She says: "It’s a case of mind over matter and I am going to have to imagine I am not in my body when I am doing it all! You are going to a situation where you are not doing it for yourself. You are part of a team."

Forde said her friends and family can't wait to see how she fares and she thinks she will be the chatterbox of the group.

"I can chat all day long. I do like hearing stories. I will be talking to people and who knows, maybe I will conduct a sing a song around the campfire!"

However, she said she won't be taking charge when it comes to the cooking.

Forde ultimately hopes to raise her profile through the experience.

"I love my singing but I also love doing full on TV too. I’d love to do more TV work 100 per cent," she says.

"I want to learn things about myself too. I’ve never been to Australia before and I do think it will be an adventure."
