A second series of Netflix’s Grace and Frankie is in the pipeline, thanks to some vocal support from Miley Cyrus.

The comedy series’ co-creators and executive producers Marta Kauffman and Howard J Morris confirmed the news at a FYC panel in California, according to Deadline.

Kauffman said: “Let me say, it’s so awesome to do a show on Netflix because two and a half weeks after we launched, Miley Cyrus does a tweet about your show, and they call and say, ‘We’d like to do a season two.’ So yes, there is a season two. We have Ted and Miley to thank.”

The comedy follows the friendship of Grace (Jane Fonda) and Frankie (Lily Tomlin) as they enter a new chapter in their life after their husbands announce they are gay and in love with each other.

The original Netflix series is the first made to appeal to ‘the grey pound’ as the streaming service continues to grow its audience.

Grace and Frankie also stars Sam Waterston, Brooklyn Decker, Ethan Embry, Baron Vaughn and June Diane Raphael.

The second series is due to air on Netflix in 2016.
