xHamster debuts its first original series, reality show 'The Sex Factor'

It seems everyone wants a piece of that sweet 'original programming' pie these days, even porn sites.

xHamster launched The Sex Factor this week, a 10-episode series seeing sixteen wannabe porn stars battle it out. It follows the format of the talent shows you find on the major networks, with rounds of judging, people getting sent home each week and catty pieces-to-camera about fellow contestants, but features some challenges you're unlikely to find on The X Factor et al, like competitive b*** jobs and orgasm faking.

'The contestants compete in increasingly explicit challenges to win their share of a $1M prize along with instant porn superstardom,' xHamster wrote of the show.

'Host Asa Akira leads the show's contestants through the hardcore competition while [other porn stars] Tori Black, Remy LaCroix, Lexi Belle and Keiran Lee serve as mentors, coaches and judges.'

Feeling like a skit straight out of 30 Rock, The Sex Factor has some wonderful taglines for its contestants ('Church preschool teacher'... 'Nicknamed "Banana Boat").

It remains to be seen whether the investment is worth it for xHamster, but it looks to be fantastic PR, and follows a similar show made by rival Brazzers and numerous headline-grabbing stunts executed by its porn monolith Pornhub, which recently tried to crowdfund a porno shot in space.
