Ricky Gervais claims another Extras 'prophecy' after Samuel L Jackson is mistaken for Laurence Fishburne

The comedian pointed out that the same thing happened in a 2005 episode

Ricky Gervais has congratulated his BBC sitcom Extras for its ‘prophecies’ after US actor Samuel L Jackson was mistaken for Laurence Fishburne by a US news anchor.

The British comedian pointed out on Twitter that the awkward Maggie Jacobs from Extras, played by Ashley Jensen, made the same error in a 2005 episode when she mistook Jackson for The Matrix actor.

Past ‘predictions’ have involved Kate Winslet and Lionel Blair. Winslet admitted in a cameo role (also 2005) that she was only doing a Holocaust movie to win an Oscar, before going on to win the Best Actress prize for The Reader in late 2008.

Stephen Daldry's film is based in post-World War II Germany, with Winslet playing a former Nazi concentration camp officer on trial for war crimes.

Blair, meanwhile, featured in the comedy's 2007 Christmas special, when he joined Celebrity Big Brother with Gervais' Extras character, Andy. Lo and behold, the actor was the third housemate to be voted off the 2014 series of the reality TV show.

"Kate Winslet wins Oscar for Holocaust movie, Lionel Blair goes into Celebrity Big Brother and now this," Gervais posted to his 5.6 million followers.

Samuel L Jackson was angered during an interview about his forthcoming film RoboCop when Sam Rubin asked him about his Super Bowl commercial. Unfortunately, it was Fishburne who made Kia's car advert, not Jackson.

"We may be all black and famous but we don't all look alike!" the Pulp Fiction star raged, before reeling off a list of black people he is most definitely not, including Morgan Freeman, much to Rubin's embarrassment.
