Sky Arts 2 to screen back-to-back performances by violinist Andre Rieu for a fortnight
A TV channel is to devote its entire schedule to back-to-back performances by waltz king Andre Rieu for an entire fortnight.
The Viennese musician and composer, one of the world's biggest-selling stars, will be screened 24 hours a day by Sky Arts 2.
The station is clearing its schedule for the season of performances by the 63-year-old and his Johann Strauss Orchestra and will be rebranded as Sky Arts Rieu.
Violinist and conductor Rieu has sold more than 35 million albums globally and is one of the best-selling live acts in the world.
As well as concerts there will also be a documentary and interview hosted by Sky News presenter Charlotte Hawkins during the season from March 30 to April 14.
James Hunt, channel director of Sky Arts, said: "Andre Rieu is one of the best-selling live acts in the world and one of the most successful violinists ever. We are thrilled to be working with the maestro on his very own channel."
