Stranger Things - Season Two teaser

Netflix was really just delaying the inevitable here.

Finally, though, we've gotten official confirmation that the streaming service's gargantuan hit Stranger Things will be getting a second season; though we've been getting plenty of hints it was happening ever since the first season picked up in popularity.

Variety confirmed the announcement, revealing the new episodes will land on Netflix in 2017, and that work on the season has already been underway for a while. The Duffer Brothers are returning as writers; though no casting has yet been confirmed, presumably the likes of Winona Ryder and David Harbour will be returning to their roles.

The show's official Twitter account released a brand new trailer for the announcement, taking the interesting approach of announcing the episode titles so far ahead of time. Season 2 will consist of 9 episodes, as opposed to the first's 8 episodes; you can check out the full list of episode titles below.

Episode 1 - Madmax

Episode 2 - The Boy Who Came Back to Life

Episode 3 - The Pumpkin Patch

Episode 4 - The Palace

Episode 5 - The Storm

Episode 6 - The Pollywog

Episode 7 - The Secret Cabin

Episode 8 - The Brain

Episode 9 - The Lost Brother

Some incredibly interesting titles there - speculate away.

Stranger Things Season 2 hits Netflix in 2017.
