The final three celebrities donning their dancing shoes for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing are to be revealed tonight on The One Show.

Presenters Alex Jones and Matt Baker are expected to make the announcement at 7.30pm this evening.

The glittering line-up already includes Frankie Bridge from The Saturdays, tennis player Andy Murray’s mum Judy, Blue singer Simon Webbe, TOWIE star Mark Wright, pop star Pixie Lott, TV presenter Caroline Flack and former rugby international Thom Evans.

The much-loved latin and ballroom contest will return for a 12th series next weekend.

In the opening programme the 15 celebrities will be paired up with their dance partners, before going off to commence their initial training.

The new series will be the first without veteran host Sir Bruce Forsyth, who is being replaced by Claudia Winkleman. She previously presented the Sunday night results show and will share the job with Tess Daly.

Daly, 45, said she and Winkleman, 42, had proved they were not past their “sell-by date” by fronting the show together.

She told Good Housekeeping magazine: “I know - two women hosting the biggest show on TV! And in our 40s ... Surprise, surprise, we're not past our sell-by date.

"It's a huge compliment that the BBC has broken the traditional male/female hosting format, and all credit to them for being the first to do it.

"I saw Geri Halliwell at an event recently, and she actually said the words 'Girl Power' to me. I loved that."

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One at 8pm on Sunday 7 September.
