Supernatural is returning to TV screens in the UK for its ninth series - for those few fans who have yet to stream the season online.

The hit US series will be broadcast on E4 early in 2015.

The series aired in the US earlier this year on The CW network and finished in May. A UK start date has yet to be confirmed by E4.

Announcing the news, Channel 4 said in a press release: “E4 has announced the recruitment of demon hunters Sam and Dean Winchester in an attempt to combat the supernatural forces which are expected to descend upon the channel in early 2015.”

Starring Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles alongside Misha Collins, series nine follows Sam and Dean Winchester as they take to the road again to do battle with supernatural forces.

The show previously aired on Sky Living in the UK but was dropped after the season eight finale in March.

British actor Mark Sheppard, who plays Crowley in the series, tweeted to confirm the news last night.

“So excited. UK’s E4 brings SPN home!!! @Dramaon4 @E4Tweets #SupernaturalUK”, he wrote.
