Have you recovered from The Walking Dead season 7 opener yet? We didn't think so.

Fortunately, you have a few days yet to muster up the courage to dive in for the second installment which will hopefully take a break from bashing brains in. Or, then again, perhaps not...

When's it on?

Episode 2 will drop in the US on Sunday 30 October with FOX airing the episode the following evening at 9pm (best hide under a rock that day).

Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 2 Trailer

What's it called?

'The Well' - much less ominous-sounding than last week's premiere 'The Day Will Come When You Won't Be.'

Who will we see?

Well, judging by the trailer, we'll see Rick and co back in the Alexandria Safe-Zone. Chillingly, it doesn't seem like it's too long before Negan comes a-knocking...

Primarily, though, the lion's share of this episode will go to Morgan (Lennie James) and Carol (Melissa McBride) who we last saw encountering two new characters followiung a fateful run in with one of the Saviors. British actor James teased what fans can expect from their scenes together in an interview with The Independent.

What can we expect?

The introduction of some important new characters

Namely King Ezekiel and his pet tiger, Shiva. Yes, after months of build up, we're finally heading to the Kingdom where we'll meet the man who, as Morgan puts it, does "his own thing." It's a sure bet we'll get to meet some other of the Kingdom-dwellers also; characters that'll no doubt be a big part of the eventual showdown with the Saviors.

'Daryl and Dwight' the duo

Last week's episode saw Daryl kidnapped by the Saviors. While it initially seems as if it was to ensure Rick stayed in line (Negan tells him that if he doesn't do as he's asked, he'll make Rick mutilate Daryl until he does), it seems ever more likely that Daryl is needed for a grander plan. What that plan is remains unclear but it seems he's being put to work by Dwight (Austin Amelio), Actor Norman Reedus has teased his season 7 arc as "dark" which terrifies us quite frankly.

A weakened Rick

"Let me put this to all of you as clearly as I can," Rick solemnly tells his people in the trailer. "I'm not in charge anymore - Negan is." The people back at Alexandria are going to be hearing about the deaths pf Abraham, and Glen and expecting a retaliation from their leader - however, the true terror will arrive when they realise Rick is bowing down to this man.

A Morgan and Carol stalemate

Morgan and Carol have had a tumultuous relationship since the former's return in the season 5 finale. Having spent the majority of last season clashing over their conscientious beliefs - Carol believed killing was necessary, Morgan didn't - it seems they're finally on the same page. Carol went AWOL towards the end of last season, though, and even seemed content to die - until Morgan swooped in and broke his code at the last minute. Expect this episode to establish what page these two are on.

Amother death?

You read that right. Killing off another main character just a week after the traumatic events of last week's season opener would be a classic Walking Dead move. Could we be saying goodbye to morgan or Carol? Or could Negan make an example of another member of the group over at Alexandria? We dread to think.

Earlier this week, an alternate death scene was leaked showing Negan kill a completely different character altogether.

The Walking Dead continues in the UK at 9pm on FOX.
