Commodore George Cooper, Chief of Operations at the RNLI, on the documentary series Lifeboat (ITV Wed): 'I enjoyed watching it, especially the excellent, very dramatic shots of the lifeboat at sea. It was a fair and honest presentation of the Salcombe lifeboat crew. They filmed the station as it is, and I think that came over loud and clear - you saw the men getting on with the job - it was a 'warts and all' picture. From my point of view, it was lifeboating going on as I understand it. We had no doubts about allowing the cameras in, we are an open and honest organisation: if the media want to film our people doing their jobs, that's fine. I hope it will have a good effect on the general public.'
